EPOCH issue 04 is a special issue made in close collaboration with the Archaeological Park of Pompeii. Over a year in the making, this issue explores the UNESCO World Heritage Site in a radical way, with 480 pages containing over 20 commissioned photographic shoots, 30 interviews, 5 thought pieces, unseen archival imagery, and hundreds of hours of work.

This issue features exclusive interviews with renowned historian Mary Beard, the archaeologists of Pompeii and its director Gabriel Zuchtriegel, along with artists, photographers, and contemporary creatives including: Harley Weir, Wade Guyton, Marc Goehring, Bruno Staub, Zoe Natale Mannella, Paul Kooiker, Thomas Prior, Jonas Lindstroem, Debra Shaw, Nadine Fraczkowski, David Zilber, Jeremy Deller, Adrian Maben, and many more.

What happens when you think of history differently? Linear history is an illusion. A dated idea based on concepts of progress and production. EPOCH aims to place the now in dialogue with the past. It is a publication and platform with an untethered, emotional, active take on the wholeness of civilization.

We are striving for a cross-pollination of disciplines, from anthropology to fashion, science to art, archaeology to music. A space for artists, thinkers, historians, anthropologists, composers, archaeologists, researchers, curators, filmmakers, photographers, architects, librarians, academics and all those working creatively to poetically form new ways of thinking about the world.
