Welcome to i-D’s Beta Issue, a tribute to the Generation Beta kids born in 2025 and anyone at any age who operates outside of the constraints of their era.

In this issue, we head to Puerto Rico with Bad Bunny—known on the island as Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio—as he attempts the impossible: a blockbuster tour with only one stop (his hometown). Writer Suzy Exposito meets Benito at the San Juan’s El Coliseo to discuss being a hometown hero and celebrating his roots, with intimate portraits by Ryan McGinley.

We’re also bringing together cover stars born in 2025, 1994, 1981 and talent that spans Boomers to babies to paint a comprehensive picture of being alive in 2025. We reinvent ourselves with a Gen X It Girl, learn how to drop in from a Gen Z skater, and take advice from a Boomer film director making a kinky new film. There is community found in Tribeca lofts and Californian ranches, freedom in Pattaya pageants and Hackney art studios, and mischief at the Chateau Marmont and in the halls of Paris grand maisons where a new generation of designers are reimagining fashion.

Also insi-De: A tribute to 20 years of Telfar, Phoebe Gates’ secrets to success, the world’s most famous dog, some tips for your LinkedIn, advice on how to survive 2025, Creepy Chan, and much, much more.

i-D has built its reputation on being a consistent source of inspiration in fashion culture. It began as a fanzine dedicated to the street style of punk-era London in 1980, and quickly earned its position at the vanguard of fashion and style, abiding by the premise of originate – don’t imitate. i-D has come a long way since its pre-digital, cut-and-paste days and has developed into a glossy magazine that documents fashion and contemporary culture, and has broken ground defining it too.
