LOST iN New York NYC
Over the years, NYC has attracted anyone who’s wanted to make it big: from artists and intellectuals, to supermodels and self-proclaimed masters of the universe. The city had it’s fair share of ups and downs but it’s always managed to get back on its feet. New York has extended itself to the outer boroughs— it’s not just The City anymore. But does Williamsburg as the capital of beards, fixed gears and craft beer really represent the city’s identity? And where is Manhattan alive and kicking today? To answer these questions 38 HOURS in spoke with a diverse range of people: parents of eight from Brooklyn, a couple who run a restaurant in SoHo, a Danish artist from Chinatown, a musician from Williamsburg, and a style icon who moved from Belgium 25 years ago.
Updated second edition.
