Posterzine #62 – Ermsy

by People of Print

This month's issue of Posterzine® brings you an exclusive interview with Ermsy; a Paris-based artist known for his surreal reimaginings of famous cartoon characters. We chat with him about how starting out as a graffiti artist has influenced his work and the process of matchmaking his favourite cartoons.

Often, you find your favourite childhood figure get tangled up in the artist’s signature spaghetti limbs or interact with each other flirtatiously. But whether it’s Garfield eyeing-up Betty Boop or Mr Burns riding a Bart Simpson-shaped skateboard, Ermsy paints pop culture icons like you’ve never seen them before.

Posterzine® is People of Print's monthly publishing project taking the form of a mini-magazine which folds out into a gorgeous A1 format poster (594x841mm). Printed by Pressision Ltd using (usually) two special spot colours onto high-quality GFSmith Naturalis paper.
