IFLA! is an independent magazine with a fresh perspective on climate change. Too often, environmental discussion is polarised into one of two categories: the remote, technical language of science, or the hotheaded outrage of activism. We find the middle ground, inviting writers and illustrators from a variety of fields to give us their take on how climate change will affect — and is affecting — society.

We want to help untangle the climate tensions and choices that our generation will have to navigate by platforming as many different perspectives as we can find. IFLA! provides original, engaging and surprising content — widening environmental discussion and offering a range of vocabulary and insights not found elsewhere.

Issue 7: Regeneration

Last year we saw the number of net zero pledges promised by global governments and businesses double. As yet, there is no assurance these pledges will do enough to decarbonise our economies, while the intertwined problems of social inequity, biodiversity collapse, pollution and resource depletion remain huge challenges.

So, in issue 7, we explore what regeneration might mean: the messy, necessary, complex climate actions that truly protect our planet.

We consider people and movements that put climate action under a broad lens: climate activists moving into digital spaces, artists challenging conventional narratives about oil politics, and concerning efforts to put a price on nature.

We also reflect on regenerative approaches in a wide array of different spaces: slow fashion in the South Asian diaspora, handling death sustainably, restorative agriculture, and regenerative social housing.
